During a late night check at Juhu, while every vehicle was stopped and check for drink driving, a traffic constable allowed actor Govinda to pass through once he discovered that the actor was behind the wheel.
Govinda even got into a heated argument with a MiD DAY photographer when the latter clicked his picture at the nakabandi.
The incident occurred around 2 am, near Hotel Tulip Star at Juhu, when D N Nagar traffic police was conducting a drink drive campaign.
A silver Mercedes zipped past the junction and briefly halted at the signal.
The traffic constable asked the driver to roll down the window, and when he realised that Govinda was behind the wheel he let the actor pass without any further ado.
What's wrong?
However, Govinda spotted the photographer clicking his picture. This infuriated him and the actor lost his temper and launched a verbal attack. He kept levelling accusations at the staffer of instigating the police.
Another person, who was seated in the passenger seat, also followed Govinda and joined the fracas.
A traffic constable intervened and told the actor, "Jaundya sahab, jaundya" (let it be sir).
When MiD DAY contacted on-duty Police Inspector Ramesh Waghchaure of D N Nagar traffic division, he said, "I did not notice what happened.
If I had seen him, I would have definitely checked him. Rules are rules, whether it's a celebrity or any other citizen."
